Melissa Saville, author of The Bedtime Pajama Rhyme Book, partnered with Gleaning For The World to collect and distribute new pajamas to children in need. I assisted them by drafting a press release that focused on the charming local color of this holiday charity event.
I provided Melissa with a list of my media contacts so that she could send her press release and field any questions. The story was picked up by several groups, including:

As a result, the drive exceeded expectations by collecting 623 pjs in total with an additional $300 in donations to purchase more pajamas.

Grassroots Pajama Drive Brings Hope to Underprivileged Children in Central Virginia
LYNCHBURG, VA 11.23.2017 – Melissa Saville, author of The Bedtime Pajama Rhyme, has partnered with Gleaning For The World to collect and distribute new pajamas to children in need. This grassroots project has grown quickly since Thanksgiving with a significant number of pajama and cash donations.
Currently, there are eight participating drop-off locations around the Lynchburg, Roanoke, and Salem area. They will be collecting now through December 31, 2020.
