For this document, The Shop Shop worked with Preschool Learning Garden by creating Canva graphics for YouTube thumbnails, title screens, and video frames. Danielle met with creator Melissa to find out what creative she needed and brought team member Rachel L. onto the project for execution. Then, we created 59 graphics, including Canva YouTube Thumbnails for 11 videos. Since Melissa edits her videos in Canva, she could easily pull our Canva graphics into her video projects.

Canva YouTube Thumbnails

Throughout the project, Rachel created a multitude of designs for the brand, ‘Preschool Learning Garden’. This channel creates educational YouTube videos with many videos devoted to roundups of children’s picture books. In these videos, Melissa reviews popular children’s picture books and discusses the main themes. For each design, Rachel created a title page, a thumbnail slide, and a video placeholder slide with a frame. The thumbnail designs preview YouTube videos and explain the video content. The video placeholder slide is where the brand will place sections of their video for variety.

Below are some of Rachel’s favorite designs.

Top Favorite Ocean Animal-Themed Picture Books

Rachel created a picture book ocean animals-themed title page, book thumbnail, and a video placeholder slide for YouTube. She utilized Canva elements for oceanic animal graphics and an “under the sea” background. Since this is a YouTube series for preschoolers, Rachel made the designs bright, engaging and fun. As with all the designs, she utilized the ‘Preschool Learning Garden’ logo and other elements that have been consistent across the brand’s YouTube. As a result, the designs were distinct, yet consistent with one another.

Top Favorite Kangaroo-Themed Picture Books

“Adorable! I love the backgrounds! They go perfectly with kangaroos! Cute how she threw on the hat and found a kangaroo crossing sign too!” – Melissa, Owner, Preschool Learning Garden

For the picture books, Rachel created a title page, book thumbnail, and video placeholder slide for the client’s YouTube. She utilized Canva to search for creative elements and graphics that would imitate the outback theme. She used a consistent color scheme to make the design visually appealing. She also used some of the same elements so the slides may be cohesive. As with all the projects, Rachel utilized the client’s ‘Preschool Learning Garden’ logo and their consistent graphics. She continued to create child-friendly designs, as this brand is targeted towards preschoolers.

Top Favorite Frog-Themed Picture Books

Rachel’s frog-themed designs included a title page, book thumbnail, and video placeholder slide for the client’s YouTube video. She utilized a consistent color scheme of greens, blues, and browns with a pond background to match the frog aesthetic. She also used the same frog graphics across all the designs so that the design would be cohesive. Rachel kept the design child-friendly, as it is geared towards preschoolers. For brand consistency, Rachel included the client’s ‘Preschool Learning Garden’ logo and the same consistent elements the brand uses across all their designs.
