Making room for something new starts with getting rid of the things we don’t need — wiping clean, deleting, creating space. Creatively, this invigorates me. At the start of this year, I refocused myself — not on goals or resolutions. I simply cleared out.
I boxed things up for a yard sale and online marketplaces. I fixed up a few projects — I thrifted to resell and dropped them at my shop space. I trashed old files and scraped messy journal pages.
That actual physical space opens up my soul.
This week, I’ve also seen a trend toward white space and soft colors in my design projects. Clients have been requesting it and users have been favoring them.
Maybe we all need a little rest for our eyes.
