Autumn fills me with a new year energy — a hangover from the school calendar. We fill new planners with new schedules, pull out boots and sweaters, and breathe in the changing chill in the air. For my designs, I seek out fresh color combinations — or at least variations on old favorites. Below is a roundup of colors that inspired recent design projects at my Lynchburg advertising marketing agency.

When I create these color roundups, I use hex codes because I tend to work most in web design. If you’re designing in Canva or Illustrator, you can download my images. Then, just use the color picker tool to grab your favorite tones and add them to your palette.

Autumn Color Ideas

Using #sweaterweather is so 2000-late but, this season’s all about that knit life. We just don’t call them Cosby sweaters anymore.

I always think of deep purple lavender flowers as a fall tone but, I did google “When does lavender bloom?” to confirm. Yes, it does bloom through August.

I’m most drawn to vintage, mustard-leaning tones this fall. Think of colors you’d seen on 60s and 70s ceramics.

Fall is also the time for festivals — and I love colorful banners and bunting. The fluttering energy and tawdry tones enchant me.
